Volcanic Wonders, Caves & History
Discover the north coast of São Miguel on an interpretive experience with Azorean Seascape, where the landscape becomes something to understand, not just observe.
Departing from the traditional fishing village of Rabo de Peixe, we sail along one of the island’s most striking coastal routes towards Porto Formoso. Along the way, we interpret the geological and ecological history of this volcanic territory, with special focus on the Ribeira Grande graben, a key feature in the island’s identity.
The highlight of the experience is the iconic Ponta do Cintrão, where we explore volcanic sea caves shaped by the Atlantic over centuries. When conditions allow, we safely enter these natural formations, offering an immersive and memorable experience.
Unlike conventional boat tours, this experience focuses on reading the landscape in context, geological interpretation, and close observation of coastal wildlife, at a slow and contemplative pace.
The route also includes Porto Formoso and Praia dos Moinhos, two iconic locations where the contrast between lush green landscapes and the Atlantic Ocean enhances the uniqueness of the north coast.
Designed for small groups, this experience ensures comfort, proximity and a more personalised approach. Onboard, we serve local tea, water and regional biscuits, creating a genuine connection with the territory.
Each departure is carefully adapted to sea conditions, ensuring safety, quality and the best possible experience.
More than just a boat tour, this is a deep connection with the nature of São Miguel’s north coast, guided by those who know, interpret and respect it.
